About Willett
The Willett family has a long history of making craft whiskey. John David Willett started distilling near Louisville, Kentucky, during the Reconstruction era. In 1898, his son, A. Lambert Willett, began training with his father at just 15 years old. Lambert later bought land outside Bardstown, Kentucky, and in spring 1935, built the Willett Distilling Company. The company later became Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, but the family’s tradition continues. Kulsveen, owner of KBD, is also Willett’s son-in-law.
