About Blanton’s
Albert Bacon Blanton was born in winter 1881 on a farm near Frankfort, Kentucky. At 16, he started working at the Old Fire Copper Distillery, also called O.F.C. Distillery, as an office boy. Over the years, he worked in nearly every part of the distillery. By age 20, he became the superintendent and held that role until he retired in 1952. Blanton was a firm believer in traditional bourbon and loved making Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. He found a special spot in Warehouse H at his distillery where he thought the best bourbon aged. He would pick barrels from that section for his private Reserve.
