Blanton’s story begins in the winter of 1881 when Albert Bacon Blanton was born on a farm near Frankfort, Kentucky. At just 16, he started working at the Old Fire Copper Distillery as an office boy. Over the years, Blanton gained experience in every part of the distillery. By age 20, he was named superintendent and held that role until he retired in 1952.
Blanton, like his mentor E.H. Taylor, loved traditional Kentucky bourbon. He believed certain parts of Warehouse H were best for aging. Blanton would personally pick barrels from this section to create his private reserve.

Bourbon is a true American spirit. Although most of it is made in Kentucky, you can find it all over the country. It must contain at least 51% corn and be bottled at 40% alcohol or higher. This classic drink is worth trying for anyone interested in America’s heritage.
