Playboy, the famous men’s lifestyle magazine, hardly needs an introduction. It was started in 1953 by Hugh Hefner. Rare Hare Spirits is a group of blenders, sommeliers, chefs, and anthropologists. They launched in 2021 with a tequila. In 2022, they released their first whiskey. Rare Hare 17 Year Old 1953 Straight Bourbon honors the year Playboy was founded. This 7-year-old bourbon was finished in XXO Cognac barrels from France’s Champagne region. It was bottled at 111 proof. Only 1,953 bottles of this limited-edition whiskey were made.
