Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Pappy Van Winkle 23-Year is known as the best American whiskey and the flagship of the Van Winkle brand. It shows the highest level of aged bourbon skills. Made at Buffalo Trace Distillery and bottled at 95.6 proof (47.8% ABV), this famous spirit ages for 23 years in charred oak barrels. This long aging process gives it deep and complex flavors.
The mash bill, believed to be the same as W.L. Weller’s, is a wheated mix. This results in a smoother, more friendly taste than bourbons with high rye content. The climate in Kentucky helps develop layered flavors during the long aging. Each bottle is carefully hand-bottled, waxed, and numbered, with very few available. This makes it one of the most wanted whiskeys worldwide.
