About O.F.C. Vintage 1995 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. named the O.F.C. (Old Fashioned Copper) Distillery in 1870, and the name quickly became well-known. The distillery built its reputation with advanced equipment, including copper fermentation tanks, column stills, and a steam heating system that Buffalo Trace still uses in its warehouses today. This expression honors the O.F.C. Distillery. Bottled in 1995, the spirit aged for 25 years in barrels, producing only 1,500 bottles.

Buffalo Trace is based on the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky. The distillery’s name comes from an old trail used by migrating buffalo. Native Americans knew the trail well, and early settlers later used it to travel west after crossing the Ohio River.

Buffalo Trace is the oldest distillery in the U.S. that has operated continuously. It has a history tied to legendary master distillers like E.H. Taylor, Jr., George T. Stagg, Albert B. Blanton, Orville Schupp, and Elmer T. Lee. The company is still family-owned and sits on the same 130 acres by the Kentucky River, where it has worked for over 200 years.
